This class is perfect preparation for your first show. You will explore all aspects of acting, from movement and voice work to character development. These classes stress the coordination of voice, body, and mind, together with the basics of acting theory: actions, objectives and obstacles. Expanding and focusing your imagination, thinking on your feet and working as ensembles are all skills that you will develop as you learn the basic techniques of acting for the stage. Audition/Monologue ~ Ages 10–14 Saturdays 10:00 – 11:00 |

This class is the perfect way to prepare for auditions. You will explore all aspects of acting, from movement and voice work to character development. Character Development ~ Ages 9 & up Saturdays 11:00 – 12:00 |

In this class, students will learn the basics of building a character, using vocal technique, physical movement and creating a back-story. Students will have an opportunity to create characters from scratch, as well as apply their skills to already existing scripts for scene work in class. Registration limited to 12 students. Cost $125.

Scene It ~ Grades 3 - 8 Saturdays 12:00 – 1:00 |

Destination Drama Level 2 ~ Grades K-4 Saturdays 1:30 – 2:30 |

Students will learn the art of storytelling by crafting their own original productions using props, costumes, stage scenery, lights, and sound. This class will unlock their imagination, inspire them to write unique tales, and help them understand theatre, both on stage and behind the scenes. Each student will be given assignments that will stimulate their creativity and focus their talents. The class will end with a performance for parents that will be written and produced by the students. **Pre-requisite: must have been in a previous Destination Drama class or show with CTM. Destination Drama ~ Grades K-4 Saturdays 2:30 – 3:30 |

Students will spend a portion of their time exploring all aspects of acting, from movement to character development and everything in between. A portion of their time will be spent rehearsing and developing their own play, including the set, costumes and props, which they will perform for parents the last day. This class is wonderful for both the new student and for those who have theatre experience.

Audition/Monologue ~ Ages 7-9 Saturdays 3:30 – 4:30 |

Through this class your child will learn how to present themselves at an audition. They will also obtain the material important when beginning the creation of a monologue repertoire. Audition pieces will be posted on the website that kids can choose from and begin the class having memorized a few monologues and then work on for the duration of the class. This class will culminate in a performance of learned monologues on the last day of class.

Improv ~ Ages 7–10 Saturdays 4:30 –5:30 |

IIn this light-hearted workshop students will spend the majority of class time on their feet engaged in various exercises designed to engage their intuition and creativity. Students will immediately learn the modern techniques of unscripted acting and will work toward lessons in teamwork, support, positivity, and sincerity. In this way, the student will gain confidence on stage and at auditions. In addition, students will build a repertoire of improv games, develop strong characters, and discover their inner comedian.
